Ms. Nappi works with clients in a variety of industries to provide legal guidance, regulatory advice, and representation before US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on a range of administrative legal matters. Her practice includes:
Advising clients on tariff classification, customs valuation, origin determination, free trade agreements, country of origin marking, and duty reduction strategies
Representing clients in customs audits, origin verification proceedings, administrative protests, ruling requests, and customs enforcement matters, including penalty cases, detentions, and seizures
Conducting internal investigations of customs violations and assisting clients with government disclosures to mitigate penalty exposure
Performing internal controls assessments and compliance audits of US commercial import activity and developing strategies to mitigate risk
Advising on customs compliance and liability considerations in corporate due diligence activities
